Hal Douglas Marshall, 74, of Collinsville, IL, peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Hal was born on August 4, 1951, in Kennett, MO, to the late John and Lemah (née Hatch) Marshall. He married the love of his life, Charlotte Crossno, on July 29, 1972, and together they shared more than 53 years of marriage.

A 1969 graduate of Collinsville High School, Hal was a hardworking entrepreneur throughout his life. He was the founder and business owner of Marshall Transmission and B&M Trucking and was also the former owner of 111 Used Auto Parts. Hal proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 5691 in Collinsville.

In his free time, Hal enjoyed drag racing, hot rods, restoring old cars, rescuing Dachshunds, and listening to country music.

In addition to his parents, Hal was preceded in death by three siblings: Willis Marshall, Terry Marshall, and Helen Lemonds.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte Marshall; two sons, Scott Marshall and Brett (Patti) Marshall; a daughter, Amber (Michael Hayes) Marshall; seven grandchildren, Johnny, Ian, Darbie, Jeron, Desiree, Brianna, and Eloise; a brother, Eddie Marshall; two sisters, Lavadna (Tom) Hines and Magadline (Jim) Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
